The CDC defines a health impact event as a result of the vaccine as a recipient "unable to perform normal daily activities, unable to work, required care from doctor or health care professional."

The report was prepared by Thomas A. Clark, MD, MPH, deputy director of the CDC's Division of Viral Diseases.

The data covers the first non-trial vaccines administered from December 14 to 5:30 PM ET on December 18.
