Time magazine's 2020 'Person of the Year' was announced as Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on Thursday

Time said they chose the pair for their victory over Trump, in which they ousted an incumbent president for just the 10th time in US history

Harris is the first Vice President-elect to be named Person of the Year 

Frontline health care workers, Anthony Fauci, the racial justice movement and President Trump were among the runners up 

The choice of Biden and Harris was met with a mixture of praise and criticism with some claiming that it was a slight to the medical workers

Trump has not yet commented on his loss but has previously fumed against the magazine for failing to pick him
