•, -RW

A dozen grocery stores around New Mexico have been forced to close their doors by order of the governor.

Under Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham's public health order, businesses with four or more positive COVID-19 rapid responses in a 14-day period have to shut down for two weeks.

KOB 4 TV is reporting that the closures currently affect several essential business including grocery stores in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Roswell, Carlsbad, Farmington, Hobbs and Las Cruces.

According to the television station, residents in southeast New Mexico said they're worried a lack of options in rural communities will force people to travel out of state or to stand in long lines at other stores.
