Hi - I live in New Zealand, born in America. I have to tell you i am on the lookout as much as anyone for laws curtailing liberty, and I am not an Arden fan since she changed the election date arbitrarily. However i can report first hand that that barter law is not in effect. It may have been part of a food bill passed several years ago, but there is plenty of bartering going on here all the time. Never heard a word about it and you can't find anything about it in the news here. So i dont know where this is coming from but at the moment at least, it is alarmist and inaccurate.
