A Yurchenko, named after Russian gymnast Natalia Yurchenko, begins with a single flip, but Simone has increased the difficulty by adding a second flip 

If the vaulter doesn't rotate enough, it could result in head or neck injuries

While some male gymnasts have landed a Yurchenko double pike, no female gymnast has ever performed it in a competition

Simone first shared a video of herself practicing the vault earlier this month, leading many to believe she's going to attempt it at the 2020 Summer Olympics
