The pair were on a mountain on the slopes of Zurs, Austria on February 17, when Tristan Geissler moved to strike. 

The arcing throw hit his friend in the forehead, knocking him backwards into the snow.

He used a 'Schneeballzange' to scoop up a snowball before throwing it at his friend who was about 20 feet away. 

The Schneeballzange, is a specially engineered device for creating snow balls. Translated from German it means 'Snowball tongs'. 

The amazing device can be used to create uniform-sized and perfectly spherical snowballs in a matter of seconds
