A 13-year-old boy was given a puppy for his birthday as a surprise gift from his late father which he had arranged before he died of cancer.

The footage was recorded near the family home in Hudsonville, Michigan.

In the video, the young boy, Logan Kavaluskis, can be seen sitting in the back seat of the car wearing a baseball cap.

His cousin, Jon, who is sitting in the passenger seat turns around to hand Logan the Boston Terrier puppy.

The family had told Logan that they had been going to collect the dog but they had not told him that it was a gift.

Jon can be heard finally revealinn, Jon,g that it was a birthday present and says: 'That's from your dad. That's your dog.'
