Preparing your bug-out vehicle
Bugging out and surviving on the road can be a stressful affair, but with preparation, you can make things easier for yourself and your loved ones. Here are some basic things that can help you survive while you're on the road.

Emergency kit
At the minimum, you should have a dedicated bug-out bag inside your vehicle at all times. But, unlike a standard bug-out bag, your vehicle allows you to bring more supplies. Here are a few things you should consider adding to your bag:

Water – Water is an essential aspect of survival. An average person will use up about a gallon of water each day, so you should pack several gallons of water inside your vehicle, especially if you plan to be on the road for more than 24 hours.
Non-perishable foods – These foods do not need refrigeration and are quick and easy to pick up and eat. Pop-top canned goods and granola bars can be enough to sustain you when you're bugging out. Healthier options include trail mix and dried fruit for you to snack on. You can even throw in some sweets like hard candy or chocolate bar to give yourself a boost in energy and mood.
