A Bionic Leg Powered by A.I. Offers a Glimpse into Our Cyborg Future | Freethink Superhuman

• YouTube - Free Think

Alec was a football coach who got hit by an out-of-control, speeding car while he was on the side of the road. Miraculously, he lived - and now he's testing a bionic leg on the cutting edge of biotechnology. It uses AI (Artificial Intelligence) to help amputees walk naturally, in ways that are impossible with rigid prosthetics.

In this video, we went to Salt Lake City, Utah, and met Alec and the University of Utah's Bionic Engineering Lab that is developing the device. It's the latest episode of Freethink original series Superhuman, telling the stories from the front lines of medical innovation.

In this season, we're focusing on amazing, inspiring advances in medical technology that are enabling paraplegic individuals to overcome paralysis or move in unprecedented ways.
