Three men in their 50s who were wrongfully convicted--
• https://www.dailymail.co.uk by Jennifer SmithAlfred Chestnut, Ransom Watkins and Andrew Stewart are all in their early 50s
They were put behind bars in 1983 after being wrongfully convicted of murdering DeWitt Duckett
Duckett was shot dead in the corridor of his high school over his Georgetown jacket
The real shooter was named by witnesses as Michael Willis; he is now dead
But detectives and prosecutors pushed for the three boys, who had been seen in the hallways of the school earlier that day, to be jailed
They were 17 and 16 when they were put behind bars
Chestnut wrote to the State's Attorney's office asking for the case to be revisited after the opening of the Conviction Integrity Unit
Since 2015, the unit has helped exonerate nine wrongfully convicted people
