A demonstration of futuristic 'flying' water taxis has been launched on the River Seine, taking passengers through Paris in the next step for the long-awaited project. 

Production of the SeaBubbles, masterminded by yachtsman Alain Thébault and windsurfer Anders Bringdal, began in February 2017 after the creators raised €3.45 million for the project.

The pair have now been given the green light to begin another round of trials on the River Seine from Monday, PlugBoats reported.

The vessels had previously been tested on the river in May 2018, with Paris selected for the demonstration due to Mayor Anne Hidalgo's support for the project.
