Snow is falling heavily in the mountains and roads are snow covered and slippery. Rain is changing over to snow in the Denver area and will accumulate to a few inches on grassy surfaces early Thursday.

Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for the mountains above 10,000 feet until 6 PM Thursday. The snow will accumulate to 8 to 16 in the mountains, Denver should see 1 to 3 inch accumulations on grassy areas, with 3 to 6 inches over the southern and western suburbs above 6,000 feet.

Roads will be snow-covered and slippery in the mountains and slushy in the Denver area for the Thursday morning drive.
The weather will stay cool and unsettled Thursday with more showers and highs in the low 40s.
