Prince Hisahito of Akishino, 12, attended junior high school welcome ceremony

He is the son of Prince Fumihito, second in line to the throne, and Princess Kiko 

Hisahito will attend Ochanomizu Junior High School, Tokyo for next three years

He is Emperor Akihito's only grandson and third in line to the Japanese throne

It's been an eventful time for the Japanese imperial family with a new emperor preparing to take the throne next month, but one of its younger members is also celebrating an important milestone. 

Prince Hisahito of Japan, 12, has attended a welcome ceremony at his junior high school, as he prepares to embark on the next phase of his education.
