Talk of socialism in America in the past was mostly relegated to historical conversations, academia, and certain populist movements, but aspiring politicians and elites today pretend to promote this ideology openly and with pride. This change in attitude is ignored by many, but is a significant transition. In order for this phenomenon to take root, a general sense of despair and envy among the people must be evident. The psychological mindset necessary for the acceptance of socialism is one ripe for exploitation, and if truly advanced would rock the foundation of elite power. But is that likely? I think not.

The current political movement toward more socialism is gaining support, and seems to have turned the corner toward general political acceptance. Consider some of the most talked about political figures that are gaining popularity in advance of another election cycle; those like Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and others. They are causing a stir. While they do not control the Democratic Party per se, they have affected a major change in stance due to their popularity and media coverage. This is telling and scary. The entire political narrative is changing with only the combined efforts of a few people and a complicit media.

Consider the substantial shift from past core family values and common morality norms that now have all but disappeared, and the purposeful isolating of all ethnic differences. This is the result of postmodern thinking and multiculturalism. It is agenda driven nonsense that has been forced down the throats of the weak masses through a fear of being labeled. The driving force of this change has been accomplished by threats and violence. Instead of standing against this onslaught of depravity and divisiveness, widespread apathy has only increased its presence.

As far as politics are concerned, the Republicans are no better than the Democrats, and certainly worse considering their support of the military industrial complex, and its warmongering assault on mankind worldwide. Socialist policy, war, corporatism, government expansion, and increased regulation and restriction in this day and age are not foreign to either political party. The only difference in red and blue nowadays is at the margin. Supporting either side is detrimental to liberty, but a major shift toward more socialism would further destroy the moral and economic fabric of society.
