Patriots edge Chiefs in OT to advance to Super Bowl LIII

The Patriots dynasty isn't over yet.

Tom Brady and Bill Belichick will appear in their ninth Super Bowl in 18 years as the Patriots outlasted the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime, 37-31, in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.

Rex Burkhead scored from the 2-yard line to end it in OT, this after three third-and-long conversions from Brady.

A 4-yard touchdown run by Burkhead put New England ahead by three with 39 seconds remaining in regulation. But it was brief. Patrick Mahomes quickly drove the Chiefs drove down the field to set up a 39-yard field goal that tied the game with 11 seconds remaining

Chiefs running back Damien Williams scored three touchdowns in the final frame, the third one giving Kansas City a 28-24 lead with 2:04 remaining.

The Patriots will face the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII on Sunday, Feb. 3, at Mercedez-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The Patriots led 14-0 at halftime, outgaining the Chiefs, 245-32.
