In my day there were organized boxing and wrestling matches. Today there are more brutal fight encounters including between women that are part of sanctioned fight matches shown on TV.

No more. The two teachers in the video below, obviously not clued in to the tone of our time, allowed young kids to bash one other with what looks like foam hand covers. It doesn't seem like more than feelings get hurt, but the outcome is a child abuse investigation, fired teachers, and a mom seeking money.

How do we fit together the over-protection of children with the violent society with which they will have to contend?
