Meadow Pollack was killed minutes into the shooting. Meanwhile, sheriff's deputy assigned to the school, Scot Peterson, hid outside the building.

Pollack filed a wrongful death lawsuit Monday against Peterson, shooter Nikolas Cruz and a wide array of individuals who had responsibility over Cruz in the years and months before the shooting.

Pollack told The Daily Caller, "I'm doing this because of the injustice of my daughter's unnecessary death."

"This guy could have ended it on the first floor," he continued, "Instead he let six more people die. My daughter would want me to speak up for her. The love I have for my daughter is unmeasurable."
