'South Park' video game gets more difficult based on character's skin tone

• nydailynews.com by Kate Feldman

"The Fractured But Whole" RPG video game bases playing difficulty on the character's skin tone, Eurogamer revealed after getting a copy of the new program.

Lighter-skinned characters default to an easier mode of play, while dark-skinned characters have a more difficult time.

"Don't worry, this doesn't affect combat," Eric Cartman says in a voiceover during the selection process.

"Just every other aspect of your whole life."

"The Fractured But Whole" also allows gamers to choose a non-male character — female, transgender or cisgender — as opposed to the 2014 "South Park" game, "The Stick of Truth."

"South Park: The Fractured But Whole" is due out Oct. 17.
