Governor Ducey Takes Action On All Remaining Legislation

PHOENIX — Governor Ducey took action today on 33 bills, clearing out all legislation remaining on the governor's desk from the 2017 legislative session. 

The session saw historic achievements for Arizona, including the passage of a fiscally responsible budget that makes new investments in K-12 public schools and higher education as well as legislation to roll back economic barriers, expand opportunities, and advance the health and safety of Arizonans.

In total this session, the governor signed 344 bills and vetoed 11 bills. Below are a few of the highlights from today's bill signings:

Legislation (SB 1368) to ensure newborn babies are screened for Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID), a rare genetic disorder that leaves individuals vulnerable to infectious diseases.

Legislation (HB 2547) to pave the way for a $1 billion investment in Arizona's three public universities directed toward research and development infrastructure.

Legislation (HB 2372) to expand economic assistance and waive initial licensing fees for low-income and vulnerable citizens.
