While traditionally Beltway events such as House speaker Paul Ryan's press briefings have little if any market impact, in light of recent developments where literally in the span of 24 hours suddenly the market is obsessed with everything coming out of DC, one no longer knows may or may not be market moving, so erring on the side of caution, here is a live feed to today's press conference by Paul Ryan.

It goes without saying that any discussion of ongoing Trump scandals will be of key market interest.

Here are highlights of what he said via Citi:

Ryan "will leave it (Comey testimony) to the Congressional investigation committees," in regards to the Trump- Comey developments. "We need to see the facts," he says before making judgments and he won't "armchair quarterback" investigations. Instead, Congress will go "where the facts lead."

While this language is a bit less dismissive than last week, Ryan continues to stress that Congress - irrespective of the media's focus - will continue to press on key policies, such as tax reform. "That is how and how we will be judged" by the American people, believes Ryan.

When asked if he still has confidence in Trump, Ryan responded "I do."
