Oath Keepers on Way to DC to Protect Patriots at Inauguration

"One more jump into DC."  Dedicated to the memory of WWII Army Airborne Hero, Renn Bodecker

As I write this, I am on my way to Washington DC to join with other Oath Keeper military and police veterans to carry out our Operation DefendJ20, to protect American patriots from violent "anarchists" and communists (really the same thing) who have vowed to disrupt the inauguration of our 45th President, Donald J. Trump, and to assault attendees.  We held a national leadership call last night and worked out the final operational details.  We consider it an honor to have this opportunity to step up, once again, and do our part to keep people safe as they exercise their constitutionally protected rights of free speech and assembly.

We could use your help with the costs of this operation.  Please donate here.  To learn more about this mission, go here.

We solemnly pledge to you that as we carry out this mission we will conduct ourselves honorably at all times, according to the warrior's code:

Wherever I walk,
everyone is a little bit safer because I am there.

Wherever I am,
anyone in need has a friend.

Whenever I return home,
everyone is happy I am there.

Please pray for the safety of all involved, and for a peaceful and smooth Inauguration.  And please say a prayer for our nation, that this will mark the turning of the tide, and the start of a true restoration of the Founder's Republic.   As SGM Santoro posted on the Colorado Oath Keepers page:

I want to point out that we have NOT won the war. We have only won a battle. This is going to be like a long distance race. The finish line is a long way away so pace yourselves. Always take care of family first and then take care of Oath Keepers next.

Exactly. The defeat of Hillary was incredibly important (we dodged a deadly bullet there) but it was only one victorious battle, not the winning of the war, and the domestic enemies of the Constitution are like a hydra with many heads that keep popping back up. Prepare yourselves, for the real work has only begun.  If you are not yet a member, now would be a good time to join the team  (whether prior service or not, you are welcome!).   We are all in this together, and many hands make light work.

DC Mission Dedication

I dedicate this mission to the memory of a true American hero, WWII Army Airborne veteran Renn Bodeker.   Years ago I had the great privilege to escort Renn on an Honor Flight full of WWII veterans from Montana to DC.  It was a life-changing and moving experience.   At the WWII Memorial Renn just stood there for a long moment, quietly looking at the massive wall of stars representing all the young men who died for their country, then he wondered aloud whether it would all turn out to have been for nothing, if we now let our Constitution be destroyed.  And he wept.

In 2013, when Barack Obama tried to shut down the WWII Memorial with his absurd "Barrycades," the first phone call I got was from Renn, saying he wanted to go back to DC and personally remove those blights from the Memorial.  And so we hopped on a plane together the next day and met a bunch of other Oath Keepers there, including Navy SEAL veteran Ben Smith and one of his teammates, and under Renn's leadership, we got it done.

91 Year Old WWII Airborne Veteran Renn Bodeker Leads the Way

Renn spoke of his three combat jumps in the Philippines, including the daring rescue of over 2,000 POWs at the Los Baños Prison Camp behind Japanese lines.  Some of his stories were heart wrenching.  And then he looked us all in the eye and told us he wished he could do one more combat jump, but this time into DC, against the domestic enemies of the Constitution, and he gestured toward the White House.

I wish Renn were still here today, to stand with us in DC, in celebration of a battle won in the war of American restoration.   But we know he will be smiling down on us from above, and he will be with us in spirit in all we do going forward to continue the work, as we do our best to keep his resolve in your hearts and his example foremost in our minds.

All Oath Keepers who will join us on this mission, please watch this interview with Renn at the WWII Memorial in 2013.  And reflect that whatever we have to do to restore the Republic pales in comparison to what Renn and his buddies went through.   Let's make sure it was not all for nothing.   The torch of liberty has been passed to us.  Let us guard it well.

Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined. – Patrick Henry
