Meet Jill Redwood, The Woman Who's Lived Off Grid For 30 Years

• True Activist

Have you ever dreamt about selling everything you own – or most of it, giving society the middle finger, and venturing 'off the grid' to live completely self-sufficient and in harmony with nature? You're not alone. The prospect has become more alluring for individuals of all ages in recent years.

If the idea sounds appealing, it's time you learn about Jill Redwood, a pioneer of sorts who has happily lived for over thirty years on the edge of the forest in East Gippsland in Victoria.

As the Daily Mail shares, Redwood, an environmental activist and writer, has been living 'off the grid' in a home she built herself made entirely out of reused and recycled materials. The walls of her abode are made from timber offcuts and cow dung.

Because Ms. Redwood loathes supermarkets, she eats only the food she's grown and prepared herself on her 15-acre property.

And the activist is never lonely, as she cares for over sixty animals that keep her company.
