Security News This Week: The Crypto Wars Ain't Over

• http://www.wired.com, YAEL GRAUER

The ethically challenged surveillance firm Hacking Team got itself hacked. A trove of internal documents show that the private Italian spying agency offered its services to countries with poor human rights records looking to target journalists and political dissidents. Oh, and the FBI was also on the list. The hack proves one thing: how NOT to store dangerous zero-day exploits.

And in Cyber-Armageddon news, United Airlines grounded all its flights due to an(other) automation issue the same day the New York Stock Exchange halted trading over an undisclosed technical glitch (but it wasn't a cyber attack, says the White House).

It looks like the massive hack against the Office of Personnel Management actually affected 21.5 million people, and to make matters worse, it may have given China a spy recruiting database, newly elected senator Ben Sasse explained.
