12 chickens will lay up to a dozen eggs a day from eaten grass, bugs and kitchen scraps. A chick is $3.00 ea. add $100 for 6 ez-in-ez-out posts, fence charger and 100 foot of electric fence to fence in 100 sqft movable shaded pasture a day.

$3 for 15 minutes of work a day. Hens will work for 2 or more years with one vacation (molting).

You control herbicides, pesticides, antibiotics, the scraps.

$630/year profit for 25 chickens, not considering insect and thatch services. Does that sound about right? That's not a whole lot. I didn't put any expense in toward selling them.
