A Houston police officer once awarded 'cop of the year' led a double life as a cocaine trafficker for the Los Zetas Mexican cartel, a court case claims.

Noe Juarez, was arrested Tuesday at his own police station by FBI, DEA and HPD officers and has been indicted on federal charges conspiracy to distribute five or more kilos of cocaine.

The charges were outlined in court documents, which state that Juarez conspired with Sergio Grimaldo, the brother of convicted cartel boss Efrain Grimaldo, to distribute cocaine in southeastern Louisiana from 2012 onwards.

The officer, once formally recognized by the city for outstanding community work, was also indicted on a charge of conspiracy to possess firearms connected with a drug trafficking offense.

A spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Louisiana confirmed the details in an email response to The NY Daily News.
