Legislation requiring mental illness training for police officers, district judges

Over the past several months there has been an increase in public scrutiny of police officers and their interactions with those they serve, but for some in the Capitol improving those relations is not a new concept.Last session, Rep. Thomas Caltagirone (D-Berks) attempted to address this issue, in part, with last session's House Bill 1504.Rep. Caltagirone—who as of last session was the Minority Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee—said he plans on reintroducing the legislation in the coming session. The bill would have provided for training of municipal police officers and minor judiciary members in how to identify and deal with individuals with mental health illnesses or disabilities, which necessitates a deeper understanding than dealings with other citizens.

folks – this MH scam was introduced to us in the 90s. we fell for it hook line & sinker. started with the kids in schools – the adhd….then they quickly moved to adults – post pardum/women, then "depression", and so on….
