BREAKING: Case Dismissed Against Antonio Buehler for 2012 Filming of Undercover Cop

• By: John Bush

That's the latest news in the ongoing legal saga of Antonio Buehler, the police accountability activist who was arrested in 2012 after filming and outing an undercover cop in Downtown Austin, TX.  The trial, which was scheduled for January 6th, 2015, will no longer be happening after an Austin Municipal Court judge granted the State's motion for dismissal.  The news was broke via Facebook as Buehler's attorney, Millie Thompson, shared with her friends that she had "never been so damned disappointed over a dismissal. "

Thompson may be feeling optimistic after her recent performance in Buehler's trial for "Failure to Obey the Order of an Officer", stemming from his New Years Day 2012 arrest.  During the trial, which lasted 4 days and had a jury that deliberated for over 6 hours, Thompson not only conveyed the facts of the case with precision, she also on several occasions managed to talk the State's witnesses into supporting the Defense's arguments.  Her performance played a major role in the jury's decision to find Buehler Not Guilty.
