I've finally decided to permanently delete my Facebook account.

What drew me into Facebook was the number of friends that had one.

What kept me in Facebook was the number of friends that I found.

What chained me to Facebook were the likes, tags, imagess and statuses by friends that have mentioned me.

What enslaved me to Facebook was the possibility that friends might engage me in a convsersation, an event, or some other form of human interaction, or vice versa.

But what imprisoned me to Facebook was myself.

And now I'm breaking free from the system. My friends no longer listen to me--most of them never have listened nor paid attention anyway--and my energy has been sapped for far too long, many minutes each day, just checking and reading the Facebook feeds.

I've checked enough notifications.
I've clicked enough links and articles.
I've seen enough statuses and cheap digital images.
I've had enough Facebook memories.
And now it comes to a close.
