Does he need money for his defense? Here's how he can get it.

Two of the basic legal standards in the U.S. are: 1) you have the right face your accuser; 2) there needs to be evidence and affidavit from the accuser of personal harm or damage done by the accused.

Is the City or State going to get on the stand and verify/validate any harm or damage. This means the city or State needs to take the stand, not one of its attorneys or representatives.

Turn the complaint into a counter-claim requiring the above. Include the requirement for monetary damages in the amount that the City or State would charge if it won, and throw in trial expenses. Also, add expenses of time lost due to the unlawful arrest.
