Freedom Law School remembers Rep. Traficant

This weekend, America lost a 20-year Congressman in a tragic accident. Former Ohio Representative James Traficant was fighting for his life in a Youngstown hospital for nearly a week after the farm tractor he was driving turned over and rolled on top of him. Traficant was 73 years old. The Congressman was well-known and liked by reporters in Washington for several years. He was very colorful and descriptive, often drawing laughs from large crowds of journalists. He was a fierce advocate for the under privileged. In his younger years, Traficant willingly went to jail for several days, refusing to obey a court order and foreclose on the houses of unemployed mill workers. That was just one example of the lengths the Congressman was willing to go to make things happen. He often spoke out against government overreach and the abuse of power.
