Group Behind High Rise Safety Initiative Continues Push for Ballot

The New York City Coalition for Accountability Now has responded to the rejection by reviewing the 4,153 signatures they say the City wrongly invalidated based on voters not writing their registered address. The group says once they prove that they have surpassed the 30,000 required signatures they will attempt to defeat the City's legal challenge. A decision is expected by mid-September and by October 3 the group will know whether their initiative will appear on the November ballot. If voters approve the measure it would force the city to investigate all building collapses that happened on or after September 11, 2001.
