Grocery Store Prices / Veggie List 7/5/14 / Egg Sale

• Tonopah Rob

Fry's Marketplace organic violations

Food prices have jumped another 5% and projections suggest by the holiday season another 22% increase could be seen at the cash register.

I can't believe how prices have jumped and the quantity has decreased.  Three small organic beets in a bunch for $1.99.  Kale was $3.49 a bunch. A bunch consisted of 6 to 7 leaves.  Spinach-3.49/5 oz. and Green Chard or Red Chard same as kale.  Radishes, organic are 1.99/bunch.  Heirloom tomatoes, 3.99/lb.

Tonopah Rob's Nature Grown Farm has the solution to the high prices box stores are charging for produce. Tonopah Rob's CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program.  It doesn't matter whether you make a weekly, monthly or semi-monthly visit to the farm. It's a very convenient program for people who live a distance from the farm.  The benefits are so great.  250.00 dollars turns into 400.00 dollars at the farm.  The food itself is so fresh. It's rinsed in pure well water, bunched and gathered by a bunch of Nature Grown folk.

Remember you get what you pay for.  You may see zucchini at the farm for 2.00/lb and so you think it's the same as the stuff at Sprouts for 1.69/lb and it's not….it's not fresh, it's grown with chemicals and the flavors are bitter because it sat in cold storage for weeks.  The freshness from the farm is amazing. Every weekend I hear customers say how good the vegetables taste…."carrots, I never knew they could taste so good, so sweet and the potatoes OMG!!!", the exclamations were heard in tandem from two loyal customers standing in line at the farm stand. They are right, the food is worth the drive.

When you come to the farm, you will see amazing vegetables proudly displayed on the tables. Many different varieties all season long make it to the tables. Speciality items like figs, asparagus, heirloom vegetables, fresh eggs, seasonal honey and so much more are offered at the farm.  The vegetable list is very lengthy many times of the year with two seasons colliding with abundance.  Fall beans, cucumbers, aged onions, peppers, eggplant, and the greens pour in like spinach, salad, kale and…..butternut squash!

The farm is your wellness center. It's where you get all the vitamins and minerals for the health of your family in every variety of produce you select from the farm.  It's incredible and kids love the nature grown flavors. Just think of the money you will save, no more Flintstone Vitamins.
