Is it cheesy? Totally. Have you caught yourself repeating it, even though you know good and well you sound like a dork doing so? Definitely. Every movie has its catchphrase—the one line you find yourself quoting years (decades, even!) after it was first uttered. Back in 2005, the American Institute of Film compiled these cinematic moments into a list of the 100 most memorable movie quotes. The list is impressive, if a little predictable, but as Nathan Yau of FlowingData knows, every good list is better with visuals. So he decided to take AFI’s list and turn it into a massive poster that reinterprets each quote in chart form.

If you’re familiar with Yau’s work, you’ll notice that this collection of illustrations look different from the data-heavy infographics that he tends to create. Each of the 100 illustrations were hand-designed as flow charts, pie charts, line charts (you get the idea), which is departure for Yau. “I made a conscious choice to do as much of this by hand as I could, mostly because I wanted to improve my Illustrator skills,” he says. “I’m used to writing code to visualize and analyze data, but in this case, the source material and the charts are more abstract and meant to be less specific.”
