Dutch personal submersible specialists U-Boat Worx announced their five-passenger C-Explorer 5 way back in 2010, but just started production. They’re in the process of building two, and plan to build three to five a year. It’s their most comfortable submersible yet, designed for use by individuals and tour operators alike.

“The sub is silent, extremely stable and with the air conditioning you can even control the temperature,” said Erik Hasselman, sales and marketing manager for U-Boat Worx.

Options include a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) for exploring beyond the submersible’s reach, a remote-control manipulator arm, sonar, underwater GPS and LED lighting.
