A professional musician at the age of 14, DuQuette's performing career took off in the late 60s, first as a solo opener for folk-singer Hoyt Axton, and comedian (presidential candidate) Pat Paulsen, then as half of the singing-songwriting duo, Charley D. & Milo (Epic Records* 1970). Their self-titled album received Billboard Magazine's Spotlight Pick, and their second single, “The Word is Love” went to number one in a respectable number of markets throughout the US. Concerts and studio work with Arlo Guthrie, The Dillards, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Sammy Davis Jr., Johnny Rivers (Rivers recorded the Harris/DuQuette song, “Movin' to the Country,”** on his album, Home Grown) highlighted this season in DuQuette's musical career. His creative focus eventually switched from writing songs to writing books. He is one of the world's formost experts on Aleister Crowley and Western Hermeticism.
