Judge Napolitano Discusses Appeal Court Upholding of AZ Law Requiring Voters to Show I.D. at Polls

• yeah yeah I know FOX 'news'
The Arizona court of appeals is upholding the state’s controversial voter I.D. law after the Department of Justice claimed it discriminated against minorities.

Judge Andrew Napolitano weighed in on the ruling, saying that the DOJ argued that the law, which requires people to physically show a government-issued I.D. at the time of voting, would suppress minority voting because many don’t have a valid government I.D.

Napolitano said, “The law of the land is if a state does something that disparately suppresses a minority group or affects a minority group differently than it affects the majority, then the law arguably violates the 14th amendment.”

Napolitano said that this particular court found that there is no evidence of disparate impact, so the state has the right to require the display of identification.
