DHS Seeking as Many as 5,200,000 Bullets a Year for use Throughout U.S., Including Guam

The Department of Homeland Security is looking for suppliers of more than 5.2 million 9 mm and .38 Special rounds a year for Guam, Hawaii, Northern Mariana Islands and locations throughout the continental United States, according to a solicitation notice.

The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract for ammunition supply will be for a one-year base period plus four optional periods of one year each, the department said in solicitation number HSCESS-11-R-00001. The deadline for responses to the solicitation is June 6. Delivery destinations for the ammunition will be specified with each order but will be to "numerous" locations, the department said.

The department said it may issue more than one contract, each for a maximum of 14.75 million 9 mm rounds and/or 11 million .38 Special rounds over the five-year period. More information on the contracts is available at this link.
