Italy rejects airport naked body scanners

• BodyScannerTruth.com

ENAC (Italian civil aviation authority) rejects the body-scanner. The tests have not brought the desired results, ENAC president, Vito Riggio, said this morning at a press conference. .

“We tested all of body-scanners systems” (from US companies General Electrics and L3, Ed.), Riggio said: “ENAC was on assessing whether the introduction of this system would impact on streamlining the time of inspection of passengers and to what extent. Assessed the time, we had no good results: they require more time than manual inspection”.

This morning statement from President Riggio comes as a confirmation of the doubts expressed against the body-scanner, since the beginning of the trials. In particular, beyond a lack of accuracy and a certain ease in going haywire, as detected by the operators, the total times were defined from the start excessive and often causing queues at the airport gates where they were tested, in Rome-Fiumicino, Milan-Malpensa, Palermo and then Venice.
