Press Conference Regarding Candidate Withdrawals and in Support of Ballot Access Reform

Candidates, non-partisan citizen organizations, alternative party officials, and Senator Mike Folmer will join in a press conference regarding ballot access and the impact to the electoral process in Pennsylvania with be held at the Capitol Rotunda in Harrisburg Monday, August 23, 2010 starting at 12:30 pm. The press conference is scheduled in response to all five statewide alternative party candidates who successfully filed nomination papers being forced to withdraw from the November 2010 ballot following challenges. Although this provision has been in the election code since the last major revision in 1937, from then until 2004 it was not used to remove any statewide candidates from the November ballot.
