Adam Kokesh Thanks Supporters and Calls for Bold Action

• Adam Kokesh, Kokesh for Congress
The election results are in, and it appears we have not prevailed. Congratulations, Mr. Mullins. You are the nominee of the Republican Party for New Mexico’s Third Congressional District, and you have my vote.

I want to express my lifelong gratitude to my many friends and supporters for the help that has been given generously and in many different forms. The Kokesh for Congress campaign has taken thousands of hours on the part of a very small and underpaid staff and many, many volunteers. Along the way I have made many new friends. I look forward to continuing to work with you as we bring a new generation of political ideas and activism to this district and the United States of America.

The relative numbers do not fully reflect the energy and commitment of those who cast a vote for us. We were an unconventional campaign running against a conventional candidate. The automatic reaction of old-fashioned party-line voters was to vote for our opponent. Every single vote for us was an informed decision and an act of courage by the voter.

We presented a bold and idealistic vision for the future. Some people accused us of lacking good judgement. But I say that outdated ideas show no judgement at all — and the issues are so serious that boldness is necessary.

Today we are in a time of fear, anger and hope. Americans are frightened by our massive national debt, bloated government, national insecurity and uncertainty about our future. They are angry at the politicians, both Democrat and Republican, who got us here. But they are hopeful that new leadership, new energy and new ideas will resolve these issues and restore our national strength.

We know that the 21st Century will not be like the 20th. In the 20th Century, the United States of America built the most prosperous and free society the world has ever known. But we got careless and wasteful, and instead of continuing to build on our great heritage we started to squander it.

In the 21st century we are going to have to do things differently, get our house in order and start living within our means once again. The critical question is HOW. My campaign has outlined a number of solutions. We intend to continue putting those solutions forward and working with our many friends to do so. We will continue to be a voice for change in New Mexico politics.

For now, I call upon the leadership of the Republican Party to respect the intelligence of the voters and show that the Republican Party merits the people’s trust by operating the fall campaign with integrity. The people of New Mexico will be watching.

We will shortly be announcing plans for what we do next. For tonight, thank you once again, good night, and God Bless the United States of America.

Love, faith, respect,

Adam Kokesh
