PHOENIX -- City Councilman Sal DiCiccio (District 6) explains why he opposed the food tax approved by the Cit Council earlier this month. The 2-percent tax is slated to go into effect in April.
"The basis of the opposition is that it goes a lot deeper that just a tax on the public," DiCiccio said. "The city of Phoenix has a structural problem that it needs to address .

"The city pays $100,000 per employee from a file clerk to the city manager.  We have a labor bubble that we need  to address.  This is a structural problem."

"The water rates have been raised 40% in the last 5 years in order to pay for the structural problems that it has."

"The city of Phoenix has increased expenses 270% in the last 5 years"
