Dr Jane Orient, M.D.

Jane M. Orient obtained her undergraduate degrees in chemistry and mathematics from the University of Arizona in Tucson, and her M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1974. She completed an internal medicine residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital and University of Arizona Affiliated Hospitals and then became an Instructor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and a staff physician at the Tucson Veterans Administration Hospital. She has been in solo private practice since 1981 and is still a clinical lecturer in medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.

Dr. Orient has served as Executive Director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) since 1989. She is currently president of Doctors for Disaster Preparedness. Since 1988, she has been chairman of the Public Health Committee of the Pima County (Arizona) Medical Society. She is the author of YOUR Doctor Is Not In: Healthy Skepticism about National Healthcare; Sutton's Law (a novel about where the money is in medicine today); two novels on Kindle books, Neomorts and Moonshine (where environmentalism is leading us as foreseen in the 1980s); and the second through fourth editions of Sapira's Art and Science of Bedside Diagnosis, published by Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins (5th edition in progress). More than 200 of her papers and op-ed pieces have been published in the scientific and popular literature on a variety of subjects including risk assessment, natural and technological hazards and nonhazards, and medical economics and ethics. She is the editor of AAPS News (www.aapsonline.org), the Doctors for Disaster Preparedness Newsletter (www.ddponline.org), and Civil Defense Perspectives (www.physiciansforcivildefense.org), and is the managing editor of the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons (www.jpands.org).

The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons – AAPS – is a non-partisan professional association of physicians in all types of practices and specialties across the country.

Since 1943, AAPS has been dedicated to the highest ethical standards of the Oath of Hippocrates and to preserving the sanctity of the patient-physician relationship and the practice of private medicine.

Our motto, "omnia pro aegroto" means "all for the patient."

To serve the state?  Or to serve our patients?

That is the question we will increasingly face as government forces its power into every nook and cranny of our professional lives.  I once belonged to all the standard societies—my specialty society, my state and local medical society and—dare I admit this—even the AMA.  But I discovered that none of these societies stood on the principles I hold dear—individual liberty, personal responsibility, limited government, and the ability to freely practice medicine according to time honored Hippocratic principles.

AAPS Fights to Preserve Medical Freedom!

The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, AAPS,  has been fighting the good fight to preserve the  practice of private medicine since 1943.  When the Clinton health plan was proposed, we fought for open meetings.  And when the details came to light, the plan was halted.  In the current battle over health care "reform," the AAPS helped organize numerous physician rallys and has a pending lawsuit suit in the DC Federal District Court challenging the constitutionality of the ObamaCare insurance mandate.

AAPS Stands up for Physicians!

The AAPS legal team defends doctors who have been mugged by Medicare, or railroaded by hospitals using sham peer review.  We sued the Texas Medical Board in defense of physicians' due process rights; this suit is now on appeal. We drafted legislation for reform of the Texas medical practice act and are fighting for its enactment.

AAPS Helps Physicians Reduce and Eliminate Third Party Interference!

The AAPS seminar, "Thrive Don't Just Survive," has reached doctors all over the country who wish to leave the hassles of Medicare and  the interference of managed care and start a cash practice.  We have helped hundreds of doctors opt out of Medicare through information on our website and our limited legal consultation service. We challenged the HIPAA "Privacy Rule," and got the government to acknowledge the "country doctor exemption" for physicians who do not file claims electronically.
AAPS Keeps You Informed!

Our monthly newsletter, AAPS News is packed with political, legal, and practical information that physicians cannot afford to miss.  Our Journal of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons publishes the controversial issues—often with both sides in a point counterpoint–that you won't find in most mainstream medical publications.  AAPS email alerts and our website (www.aapsonline.org) will get you the late breaking news as it happens and provide you with urgent political action items to help in the fight to restore medical freedom.

Individually, our members have appeared on Fox News, in the Wall Street Journal, in HumanEvents.com and other blog sites, contributing time, talent, and facts to counter the emotional arguments for socialized medicine.

AAPS speaks for Physicians NOT Corporate or Government Interests!

AAPS is completely funded by membership dues and contributions, so we answer to and advocate for our physician members and not big corporate donors or government funding sources.  The AMA's deal with HCFA gave it a monopoly on the CPT codes, from which it derives at least $70 million in revenue annually.  AAPS was one of the first to expose this conflict of interest.

All elected AAPS Board members and officers serve on a volunteer basis and even pay their own way to board meetings.  We do not have a big building, or a bloated staff.  Every dime in dues goes directly to the fight for freedom in medicine.

AAPS offers its members discounts on disability and other essential insurance products that are as good or better than the discounts offered by other national medical societies.

Join Your Colleagues to Keep Patient-Centered Medicine Alive!

For almost 75 years, we have consistently stood for ethical patient-centered medicine—the kind only possible in a free market medical system.

So, if you are like me, and you are tired of contributing to organizations which claim to be your advocate, but do little more than lobby for short term payment increases, support politicians who cannot be trusted, and feed their own self preserving coffers by selling you CPT coding manuals, come join us at the AAPS.

About SCO

The Surgery Center of Oklahoma is a 32,535 square foot, state-of-the-art multispecialty facility in Oklahoma City, owned and operated by approximately 40 of the top surgeons and anesthesiologists in central Oklahoma.

The facility has been accredited by the AAAHC since 1998 without interruption and has annually provided care to thousands of patients.

If you have a high deductible or are part of a self-insured plan at a large company, you owe it to yourself or your business to take a look at our facility and pricing which is listed on this site. If you are considering a trip to a foreign country to have your surgery, you should look here first. Finally, if you have no insurance at all, this facility will provide quality and pricing that we believe are unmatched.

Providing High Quality Care at Affordable Prices

It is no secret to anyone that the pricing of surgical services is at the top of the list of problems in our dysfunctional healthcare system. Bureaucracy at the insurance and hospital levels, cost shifting and the absence of free market principles are among the culprits for what has caused surgical care in the United States to be cost prohibitive. As more and more patients find themselves paying more and more out of pocket, it is clear that something must change. We believe that a very different approach is necessary, one involving transparent and direct pricing.

Transparent, direct, package pricing means the patient knows exactly what the cost of the service will be upfront.

Fees for the surgeon, anesthesiologist and facility are all included in one low price. There are no hidden costs, charges or surprises.

The pricing outlined on this website is not a teaser, nor is it a bait-and-switch ploy. It is the actual price you will pay. We can offer these prices because we are completely physician-owned and managed. We control every aspect of the facility from real estate costs, to the most efficient use of staff, to the elimination of wasteful operating room practices that non-profit hospitals have no incentive to curb. We are truly committed to providing the best quality care at the lowest possible price.

Thank you for visiting our site.

William Binney

UPDATED BIO:

Since 2001, Mr. Binney has been a consultant on analysis and analytic techniques to various agencies of the US government intelligence community - NSA, CIA, NRO and Customs and Border Protection in the Department of Homeland Security. From 1970 to 2001, Mr. Binney
was an employee of the NSA. As an NSA employee, Mr. Binney held numerous positions: Technical Director of the World Geopolitical and Military Analysis, Operations Directorate analysis skill field leader, member of the NSA Senior Technical Review Panel, Chair of the
Technical Advisory Panel to the Foreign Relations Council, co-founder of the Automation Research Center, an Agency Representative to the National Technology Alliance Executive Board, and Technical Director of the Office of Russia as well as the leading analyst for warning for over 20 years.

Over the years, Mr. Binney applied mathematical discipline to collection, analysis and reporting. In the process, he was able to structure analysis and transform it into a definable discipline, making it possible to code and automatically execute the functions without human intervention from the point of collection to the end report. The successful automation of analysis formed the foundation for prototype developments in the Automation Research Center; demonstrated how to
handle massive amounts of data effectively and relate results to military and other customers; and, formed the basis for organizing an international coalition of countries to develop and share technology advances.

Other information about William Binney:

William Binney is a former high-level National Security Agency intelligence official who, after his 2001 retirement after 30 years, blew the whistle on NSA surveillance programs. His outspoken criticism of the NSA during the George W. Bush administration made him the subject of FBI investigations that included a raid on his home in 2007. Even before Edward Snowden's NSA whistle blowing, Binney publicly revealed that NSA had access to telecommunications companies' domestic and international billing records, and that since 9/11 the agency has intercepted some 15 to 20 trillion domestic communications.

The Snowden disclosures confirmed many of the surveillance dangers Binney — without the benefit of documents — had been warning about under both the Bush and Obama administrations.

Between 2001 and mid-2007, Mr. Binney was a consultant on analysis and analytic techniques to various agencies of the US government intelligence community – NSA, CIA, NRO and Customs and Border Protection in the Department of Homeland Security.  From 1970 to 2001, Mr. Binney was a civilian employee of NSA.  At NSA, Mr. Binney held numerous positions: Technical Director of the World Geopolitical and Military Analysis, Operations Directorate Analysis Skill field leader, member of the NSA Senior Technical Review Panel, Chair of the Technical Advisory Panel to the Foreign Relations Council, co-founder of the Sigint Automation Research Center, an agency representative to the National Technology Alliance Executive Board, and Technical Director of the Office of Russia as well as a leading analyst for warning for over 20 years.

Over the years, Mr. Binney applied mathematical discipline to collection, analysis and reporting.  In the process, he was able to structure analysis and transform it into a definable discipline, making it possible to code and automatically execute functions without human intervention from the point of collection to the end product.  The successful automation of analysis formed the foundation for prototype developments in the SIGINT Automation Research Center; demonstrated how to handle massive amounts of data effectively and relate results to military and other customers; and, formed the basis for organizing an international coalition of countries to develop and share technology advances.

A side note from Bill…

Actually I was the "Technical Director of the World Geopolitical and Military Analysis and Reporting Group."  This was a group of approximately 6000 analysts and reporters.  Plus I retired from NSA once I discovered (I was not supposed to know) Hayden implemented spying (collecting data) on every US citizen possible.  For the next 6+ years I, plus other NSA whistle blowers, stayed in proper established channels (IG's, Congressional committees, congress - including now Senator Burr also we tried unsuccessfully the Chief Justice) to report violations of the constitution and existing laws.  After they attacked us with the FBI and falsified evidence (2007 - 2010) to try an indict us, that was the last straw - we went public.

Famous NSA Whistleblowers Leave Retirement To Build European Data Analytics Company

- Bill Binney and Kirk Wiebe, who both spent over 30 years at the National Security Agency (NSA) in the US, have launched data analytics company Pretty Good Knowledge.

Amsterdam, Netherlands, October 8 2018 - NSA Whistleblowers Bill Binney and Kirk Wiebe come out of retirement to launch Pretty Good Knowledge, a company providing decision intelligence solutions for organizations engaging in Big Data challenges. The company offers strategic advisory and project services for commercial and government organizations to help them realize an automated, real-time decision intelligence process at scale.

The company brings together Bill and Kirk's decades of experience in generating knowledge from data and combines this with the very latest techniques and technologies in data science, system engineering and cyber security. Both Bill and Kirk received high awards whilst creating a concept to achieve real-time processing of massive data, providing privacy and fast filtering to deliver essential knowledge to the right people at the right time based on experience gained while working at the NSA and other U.S. Government organizations.

In 2015, the documentary 'A Good American' was released highlighting their experiences as whistleblowers after the US misused the systems they created by removing the security and privacy controls which had been built into the system. Bill and Kirk have launched Pretty Good Knowledge to bring this approach to both public and private sectors and over the last year they have completed prototype projects in various financial services and government organizations in Europe. During this time, Bill and Kirk have been developing a new architecture with data scientists and system engineers in the Netherlands to ensure the very latest techniques and technologies have been adopted.

The company's newly defined Automated Decision Intelligence Architecture (ADIA) is the new approach which Pretty Good Knowledge uses to accelerate projects with their customers. This framework provides a real-time 'situational awareness' capability for organizations to quickly and effectively respond to previously unforeseen internal and external market dynamics.

Bill and Kirk now spend their time traveling between the US and Europe working directly with clients and providing lectures at their Pretty Good Academy and other educational institutions to educate the future generations of data experts on how to conduct data analysis in ways which are more powerful in producing relevant results, while respecting the law and the human right to privacy.

Reasons for choosing the Netherlands as headquarters for Pretty Good Knowledge stemmed from the country's pioneering efforts on legislation around data protection and privacy. The Dutch anticipated the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legal framework well ahead of the rest of the world, launching their own Dutch Personal Data Protection Act in 2016. The protection of data and ensuring privacy always been a top concern among Dutch businesses. According to Bill Binney, "We know how to achieve market and security intelligence without sacrificing privacy or breaking laws, and we are excited how quickly our customers realize how much more is possible when using a disciplined and structured ap proach."

Data continues to grow exponentially. The International Data Corporation (IDC) estimates that worldwide revenues for big data and business analytics will grow to over $203 billion by 2020. To stay competitive, companies need to incorporate analytics into their strategic vision and make smarter investments in their data. Pretty Good Knowledge works closely to prioritize investments and find knowledge hidden in data, improving the overall confidence and control of organizations with sensitive data. With the ADIA approach and their data analysis philosophies and solutions, Pretty Good Knowledge ensures organizations gain huge insights into their data while keeping it secure and p rivate.< /p>

"Most organizations are wasting money trying to manage more data than they can handle. Others are missing out on business value by not utilizing the data they already have," said Kirk Wiebe, who is Director of Analytics at Pretty Good Knowledge. "At Pretty Good Knowledge we work closely with you to make the impact of data on your business measurable, meaningful and scalable."

Pretty Good Knowledge is committed to the vision that 'Data Made Easy' is achievable for organizations of any type, size and complexity. They are establishing a strong ecosystem of partners to provide enterprise services and are pursuing their ambition to provide high-performance, real-time data analytics software for specific industries.

About Pretty Good Knowledge

Pretty Good Knowledge is on a mission to help organizations achieve control and confidence about the knowledge and insights they extract from ever-growing sources of data. It provides massive data analytics capabilities using methods which are highly secure and respect privacy. Pretty Good Knowledge works with organizations in the public and private sectors.

Pretty Good Knowledge was founded by famous NSA Whistleblowers Bill Binney, Kirk Wiebe and a team of experienced managers and consultants. In the late 1990's, their small team in the NSA in the US conceived a highly efficient and privacy friendly solution to achieve real-time processing of selected, high value information from massive data environments.

NSA Whistleblower William Binney interviewed by Richard Grove | Tragedy and Hope

Tragedy and Hope

Published on Jan 28, 2015

A 36-year veteran of America's Intelligence Community, William Binney resigned from his position as Director for Global Communications Intelligence (COMINT) at the National Security Agency (NSA) and blew the whistle, after discovering that his efforts to protect the privacy and security of Americans were being undermined by those above him in the chain of command.

The NSA data-monitoring program which Binney and his team had developed -- codenamed ThinThread -- was being aimed not at foreign targets as intended, but at Americans (codenamed as Stellar Wind); destroying privacy here and around the world. Binney voices his call to action for the billions of individuals whose rights are currently being violated.

William Binney speaks out in this feature-length interview with Tragedy and Hope's Richard Grove, focused on the topic of the ever-growing Surveillance State in America.

On January 22, 2015: (Berlin, Germany) – The Government Accountability Project (GAP) is proud to announce that retired NSA Technical Director and GAP client, William "Bill" Binney, will accept the Sam Adams Associates for Integrity in Intelligence Award today in Berlin, Germany. The award is presented annually by the Sam Adams Associates for Integrity in Intelligence (SAAII) to a professional who has taken a strong stand for ethics and integrity. http://whistleblower.org/press/nsa-wh...
