The North Korean Nuclear Cha-cha-cha

There are few events in geopolitics so metronomically dependable you could dance to them, but the North Korean nuclear situation is one of them.
It's a military exercise cha cha cha and a nuclear testing cha cha cha.
It's a tightening sanctions cha cha cha and a "Death To America!" cha cha cha.
Still, as reliable as this dance has been throughout the years (I myself have been talking about it for a very long time), there is the sense that it is starting to accelerate. And while an errant drummer who speeds up a song might be responsible for nothing more than a few bumps or bruises on the dance floor, the escalation of the nuclear dance is altogether more dangerous.
The latest steps toward the nuclear cliff took place on Monday when North Korea fired four ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan. The missiles, which landed in Japan's declared exclusive economic zone and put the country on its highest state of alert, are not believed to be intercontinental, but the North Korean government has boasted that it is ready to test-fire an ICBM "at any time, at any place," perhaps even this year. Given that North Korea is still technically at war with South Korea (and their co-belligerents, the UN and the US), and given that an ICBM is one half of the key to delivering a nuclear payload to the west coast of the United States (nuclear miniaturization being the other half), this is not an insignificant threat.
Worse, this latest whirl around the dance floor comes amid a flurry of worrying developments:
On Saturday it was revealed that the Pentagon has been engaged in covert cyberwarfare with North Korea for at least three years, tasked with sabotaging the country's missile tests.
On Monday North Korean UN Ambassador Ja Song Nam warned the Security Council that this "may go over to an actual war, and, consequently, the situation on the Korean Peninsula is again inching to the brink of a nuclear war."
Also on Monday the first elements of the US' highly contentious Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system were deployed in South Korea this week.
The latter development is a perfect example of how the North Korean situation really could spiral into war, and not necessarily a war involving North Korea. The THAAD anti-missile system is being done under cover of the threat from North Korea, but both Russia and China know full well that it is equally aimed at them. Although anti-missile systems are presented to the public as being solely defensive in nature, military planners know that the ability to deter missile systems is a key requirement for an offensive military gambit.
As Victor Ozerov, chair of Russia's Federal Defense and Security Committee, told reporters on Tuesday: "This is yet another provocation against Russia[…] Under the guise of a North Korean threat, they want if not to close the ring around Russia, then at least to besiege it from the west and the east."
Scariest of all is how easy it is for the rumors, speculation, and unconfirmed reports that travel through the newswires in the wake of every such event to garble the facts. It is positively frightening how quickly North Korea's "unidentified projectile" became a "nuclear missile" in the imaginations of the establishment fake news headline writers.
The North Korean nuclear dance has sometimes been perceived as a type of harmless parochial hoedown. After all, it's just those crazy North Koreans with their wacky dictator threatening the world's greatest superpower with their firecrackers and peashooters. But with every new spin around the floor, the dance gets more serious. North Korea's nuclear program advances, relations between NATO and China/Russia worsen, and the margin for human error grows. Suddenly the world is dancing on a powder keg, and the military contractors who have been milking this situation for everything it's worth have no incentive to bring the evening to a close.
…But wait! What strange tune is this? It sounds like one member of the band is trying to strike up a different tune! No, not NATO or any of its constituent belligerents. It's China!
Here's Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's latest crazy idea in a nutshell: "Hey guys, how about instead of engaging in a military exercise that simulates a full-scale of invasion of North Korea every single year you try talking to the North Koreans instead? You know, rather than dropping "dummy" nuclear bombs on the peninsula in a "simulated" nuclear apocalypse, why don't you cut out the exercises and we'll get our North Korean friends to stop their nuke program. Huh? What do you say, gang?"
It remains to be seen whether the rest of the band will take them up on the offer, but no one is holding their breath. They're all too busy doing the cha-cha-cha as instructed.
Bitcoin Over Gold: What Does It Mean?

Cast your mind back to February 2013. It was a chaotic month for metals traders.
The Bundesbank had just roiled world markets by demanding the repatriation of 50% of its gold holdings from overseas.
Central bank gold buying had just hit 49-year highs.
The Shanghai Gold Exchange hit record volumes as Indian and Chinese investors returned to the market with a vengeance.
India's gold imports swelled to 18-month highs.
Indeed, as I noted at the time, the silent gold rush was continuing apace and those in the know were keeping a close eye on the precious metals markets.
But there was another story that was taking place at that very moment. A story that, in retrospect, may prove to be more important than any of those just mentioned. Bitcoin reached parity with silver.
Specifically, the price of one bitcoin equaled that of an ounce of silver for the first time on February 19, 2013.
And just this week, the price of one bitcoin equaled (and quickly surpassed) that of an ounce of gold for the first time. (Well, OK, the second time, but in retrospect Mt. Gox's valuation didn't count, did it?)

The Most Important Bank in the World Gets Another Deposit

The most important bank in the world received a huge deposit of 50,000 last week. Not 50,000 dollars; 50,000 seed samples.
The most important bank in the world is, of course, the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, a repository of the planet's genetic legacy dug into the permafrost in the side of a sandstone mountain on Svalbard, a Norwegian archipelago halfway between mainland Norway and the North Pole.
The seed vault's administrator, The Crop Trust, describes the vault as "a fail-safe seed storage facility, built to stand the test of time—and the challenge of natural or man-made disasters," and boasts that it "represents the world's largest collection of crop diversity."
Informally known as the "Doomsday Seed Vault" the idea is that the permafrost of a remote North Atlantic archipelago is a safe place to store copies of the most important seed varieties on the planet, including some of the world's most important staple crops like potato, rice, wheat, lentil and chickpea.
The latest deposit of 50,000 seed samples come from Benin, India, Pakistan, Lebanon, Morocco, the Netherlands, the U.S, Mexico, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belarus and the U.K. and include 15,000 samples that were withdrawn from the bank in 2015 and returned by researchers who had lost access to their own gene bank in Syria during the ongoing terrorist insurgency.
But here's the real question that you don't see addressed in any of the fake news coverage of this recent deposit in the establishment press: What "natural or man-made disasters" does The Crop Trust envision wiping out the genetic heritage of the earth, exactly, and who is "The Crop Trust" anyway?
Well, the second part of that question is easy enough to answer.
As researcher William Engdahl noted in his article on the vault a decade ago:
The first notable point is who is sponsoring the doomsday seed vault. Here joining the Norwegians are, as noted, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; the US agribusiness giant DuPont/Pioneer Hi-Bred, one of the world's largest owners of patented genetically-modified (GMO) plant seeds and related agrichemicals; Syngenta, the Swiss-based major GMO seed and agrichemicals company through its Syngenta Foundation; the Rockefeller Foundation, the private group who created the "gene revolution" with over $100 million of seed money since the 1970s; CGIAR, the global network created by the Rockefeller Foundation to promote its ideal of genetic purity through agriculture change.
And as I wrote in these pages in 2015:
So who is the "Global Crop Diversity Trust" which oversees the project? Describing itself as an "established independent organization under international law," the Trust "was founded in 2004 in Rome, Italy, by the Food and Agriculture Organization and Bioversity International on behalf of the CGIAR international agricultural research consortium. The Crop Trust concluded a Headquarters Agreement with the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany in December 2012 and transferred its headquarters to its permanent location in Bonn in 2013." The GCDT was chaired until 2012 by Margaret Catley-Carlson, a former President of (you guessed it) the J.D. Rockefeller III-founded Population Council (aka American Eugenics Society). No matter where you turn in this field, you always end up back at the doorstep of the same elite eugenics-obsessed families and the corporate oligopoly they helped to bring into existence.
Surprise, surprise. And given that it is the very same eugenics-obsessed families and foundations behind the GMO revolution that are behind this seed vault, do we really have to puzzle over why they are so concerned about the possibility of an ecological disaster that could wipe out all of the heirloom, non-GMO seed strains on the planet? The question, framed properly, answers itself.
So the good news is that another 50,000 seed samples will be left for whoever survives the coming biological disaster. The bad news is that the real founders and funders of the Svalbard Global Seed Vault probably aren't going to be saving any life rafts for you.

You know, a false flag.
