Only Love Can Defeat the New World Order

Corbett • 11/09/2016 •

Whatever side of whatever political divide you are on, these times will pass. The question is what will emerge on the other side. Do we want a world of hatred and division where people are divided and ruled by psychopaths and warmongers, or a world where love brings us together to create the world we want to live in? It's not the Powers-That-Shouldn't-Be's choice to make; it's ours. So what world do you want to live in?

Larken Rose on the Immorality of Voting

Corbett • 11/09/2016

Your vote is statistically meaningless and will not sway the (s)election. Your vote is strategically meaningless and decides nothing about the future of the country. Your vote is useless, as the (s)election is rigged anyway. But as Larken Rose of LarkenRose.com reminds us, what really matters is that voting is immoral, legitimizing a system of authoritarian control and empowering the oligarchs who created the system and control its results.

Japan and Russia Might End World War 2 Soon! – The Asia-Pacific Perspective

Corbett • 11/06/2016 •

Broc West joins us once again for our ongoing look at news from across the Asia-Pacific. This time we cover: how countries across the Asia-Pacific are inching out from under the American umbrella; how the Japanese and the Russians may (or may not) be on the verge of formally concluding a WWII peace treaty; and Australia and Indonesia's potential joint exercises in the South China Sea.

You Are Being Programmed to Hate

Corbett • 11/03/2016 •

With the world spinning into hatred and violence as the two most hated (s)election candidates of all time tell us to hate one another, one might almost think there is a coordinated effort to drum up outrage. And one would be right!

Voting is the Problem. Here's the Solution.

Corbett • 11/09/2016 •

In Douglas Adams' So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish, there is a scene where a spaceship lands on earth and a robot emerges from the craft, proclaiming that "I come in peace" and exhorting the earthlings to "take me to your Lizard." The story's protagonist, Arthur Dent, has this strange request explained to him by his friend, Ford Prefect, an experienced galactic hitchhiker:

"It comes from a very ancient democracy, you see…"

"You mean, it comes from a world of lizards?"

"No," said Ford, who by this time was a little more rational and coherent than he had been, having finally had the coffee forced down him, "nothing so simple. Nothing anything like so straightforward. On its world, the people are people. The leaders are lizards. The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."

"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."

"I did," said ford. "It is."

"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"

"It honestly doesn't occur to them," said Ford. "They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates to the government they want."

"You mean they actually vote for the lizards?"

"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."

"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"

"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard," said Ford, "the wrong lizard might get in. Got any gin?"

"What?"

"I said," said Ford, with an increasing air of urgency creeping into his voice, "have you got any gin?"

"I'll look. Tell me about the lizards."

Ford shrugged again.

"Some people say that the lizards are the best thing that ever happened to them," he said. "They're completely wrong of course, completely and utterly wrong, but someone's got to say it."

If only this was a joke. But here we are, on the verge of a contest between the two least respected, most distrusted candidates to run for office in modern political history. And some people say these lizards are the best thing that ever happened to them.

If there is any solace at all in this year's selection cycle it is that, as The Corbett Report has been pointing out since the very day of its inception, there is absolutely nothing at stake here; the presidential figureheads are mere puppets, false fronts for the shadow government and deep state that commands and controls the military, economic and diplomatic machinery of the US-led world empire.

Do you really think the oligarchs put their entire system up on the chopping block every four years, hoping against hope that the public doesn't use the dreaded ballot box to vote them out of power, dashing decades (or centuries) of carefully cultivated enslavement with pencils and touchscreens? Just in case anyone dislikes rhetorical questions, let me answer that one for you: No. No they do not.

But don't take my word for it. Take Emma Goldman. As she's been reputed to have said (and if she didn't, feel free to tell other people that I said it): "If voting changed anything, they'd make it illegal."

Or take H.L Mencken, who in his usual inimitable fashion quipped:

The state—or, to make the matter more concrete, the government—consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office. Their principal device to that end is to search out groups who pant and pine for something they can't get, and to promise to give it to them. Nine times out of ten that promise is worth nothing. The tenth time it is made good by looting A to satisfy B. In other words, government is a broker in pillage, and every election is a sort of advance auction sale of stolen goods.

Or take Lysander Spooner, who wrote:

The principle that the majority have a right to rule the minority, practically resolves all government into a mere contest between two bodies of men, as to which of them shall be masters, and which of them slaves; a contest, that – however bloody – can, in the nature of things, never be finally closed, so long as man refuses to be a slave.

The FBI's October Surprise: What You're Not Being Told

Corbett • 11/06/2016 •

On Friday, October 28th, 2016, FBI Director James Comey dropped a political bombshell just 10 days out from the presidential (s)election.

Many theories have so far been floated about why the FBI director issued this letter just days before a national (s)election. Some of them, including the idea that Comey is struggling against an internal insurrection of agents disgruntled by his earlier decision not to prosecute Clinton, seem to have a basis in reality. Others, including the idea that Comey is an agent of the Russians, working in collusion with Putin and Trump to put a Kremlin puppet in the White House, do not.

But what seemingly everyone has missed with regard to the letter is that it was issued just four days after another bombshell piece of information…

Tom Jenney

Arizona Director - American's for Prosperity

Webpage: http://americansforprosperity.org/arizona/

Tom Jenney – State Director – American's for Prosperity

Tom Jenney is director of the Arizona chapter of Americans for Prosperity, formerly the Arizona Federation of Taxpayers. As director of AFT in 2006, Jenney helped to reduce state income and property taxes, and helped lead the fight to pass Prop 207, the Private Property Rights Protection Act. Since joining Americans for Prosperity in 2007, Jenney has won multiple legislative and local government victories on tax policy, privatization, budget reform and worker freedom. In November 2010, Jenney and AFP-Arizona were helpful in passing Prop 106, the Arizona Health Care Freedom Act, and Prop 113, the Save Our Secret Ballot Act. In 2012, AFP-Arizona led the successful fight against the Arizona ObamaCare insurance exchange, and helped in defeating the Prop 204 permanent sales tax increase.

Since 2004, Jenney has overseen the publication of the AFT-AFP "Friend of the Taxpayer" Legislative Scorecard, which is often cited by candidates and their opponents in primary and general election fights. Since 2007, Jenney has overseen the publication of AFP-Arizona's Local Government Scorecard, which grades city council members and county supervisors on taxes and spending. In 2009, Jenney was honored to serve as the emcee at the April 15 Taxpayer Tea Party at the Arizona state capitol, which attracted about 10,000 taxpayer activists. On April 15 of 2010, the AFP-Arizona tea party rallied 7,000 people at Diablo Stadium in Tempe. AFP-Arizona activists distributed 35,000 informational door hangers and made more than 193,000 phone calls as part of the "November is Coming" campaign in the fall of 2010.

Jenney is a Tucson native and a 1988 graduate of University High School. He earned an associate's degree from the New Mexico Military Institute and a bachelor's degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from Georgetown University. Jenney has worked for the Institute for Justice and the Cato Institute in Washington, D.C. and done translations for the International Center for Pension Reform in Santiago, Chile. From 2002 to 2004, he was communications director of the Goldwater Institute. Jenney taught government, economics and Spanish at St. Paul's Preparatory Academy in Phoenix, and worked for the UNIQUE Learning Center, an inner-city after-school program in Washington, DC. He is treasurer for the Arizona School Choice Trust and a deacon at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Phoenix. He can be reached via email at tjenney@afphq.org, and by phone at (602) 478-0146. ABOUT AMERICAN'S FOR PROSPERITY...

Our Mission

Americans for Prosperity exists to recruit, educate, and mobilize citizens in support of the policies and goals of a free society at the local, state, and federal level, helping every American live their dream – especially the least fortunate.

Our Arizona Chapter

The Arizona chapter of Americans for Prosperity (formerly the Arizona Federation of Taxpayers) serves the hard-working taxpayers of the Grand Canyon state by organizing grassroots support for the following policy initiatives:

Imposing strict spending limits on government. Our state and local politicians routinely raise spending to unsustainable levels, and then come back to taxpayers for more money. You and your family live under a strict spending limit, and so should your government. To achieve strong economic growth, we cannot allow government to grow faster than the private economy.

Passing balanced budgets. Arizona's state government should not be in debt, and it should not use accounting gimmicks. When the government has spent money at unsustainable levels, the only solution is to reduce spending.

Cutting income taxes. That money is your money, and Arizona's state government wastes far too much of it. We need to keep cutting tax rates. That includes the job-killing corporate income tax, the cost of which is passed on to Arizona's workers, consumers, and business owners.

Reducing property tax levies. Your property is one of your family's most important investments, and rapid increases in tax levies threaten your financial well-being. Property taxes are essentially wealth taxes on families and businesses.

Expanding school choice. Until we bring real competition to our public school system, the bureaucrats will continue to waste our tax money and provide inadequate education for our children. AFP Arizona is proud to support the development of high-quality charter schools, the expansion of Arizona's tuition tax credits and the expansion of the Arizona Empowerment Account education savings accounts.

Supporting free-market health care, not socialized medicine. We must keep families and workers from being absorbed into government-subsidized health care (which is rapidly becoming government-run health care). One of the best ways is to allow Arizona citizens to enroll in competing health insurance plans offered in the other 49 states. Another way is to greatly expand health care price transparency, so that consumers can shop around for high-quality services and drive down medical prices.

Privatizing state functions. Nearly every function performed by government costs twice as much as it would if that function were performed by the private sector. AFP Arizona is working with state legislative leaders to privatize various state functions and to thereby save taxpayers billions of dollars in the coming years.

Reducing burdensome regulations on Arizona businesses. Bureaucratic regulations at the state and local levels stifle competition and increase the cost of goods and services for consumers.

Prohibiting the use of taxpayer money for lobbying. AFP Arizona is also pushing to strengthen the Arizona Constitution's ban on gifts ("corporate welfare") from government to the private sector.
