I'm Joe Jarvis, and I have been blogging about politics,  government, and society for almost three years. As of May 12, 2015 I can officially call myself an author, with the publication of my first fiction novel Anarchy in New England.

Until recently, the blog was called Vigilant Vote, named when I still thought voting was the most effective means to attain individual freedom. I now bring the Non-agression principle to its logical conclusion in advocating volunteerism (aka anarchy, no government, abolitionism) as the best possibility for improving the lives of individuals and therefore society, and allowing for continued technological advance.

For a while the theme of this blog fell within a relatively narrow scope, in terms of how being Vigilant and Voting related to constraining government. The more I learned, the more I realized that not only should the government stay out of economics, but they should stay out of everything. Most of the old posts are preserved in the archives, and offer an interesting look into the development of my current position.

I now advocate complete freedom of association, voluntary transaction, and the Non Aggression Principle; three things in contradiction with government, since all governments monopolize the use of force, and allow themselves to initiate it. They regulate business and they force everyone within their borders to associate.

I make the case for why coercion is never okay, even when it is called government. I also discuss ideas on how society could/ would be organized effectively without force. Free market, peace, and prosperity.

I am excited to announce that my first novel, Anarchy in New England, will be released on May 12th. It will be available to buy on Amazon in paperback and e-book. You can currently pre-order it with Bitcoin on the publisher's site Free Press Publications, or in e-book form on Amazon.

Anarchy in New England Cover (Front)In 2115 New England, society is thriving, a century after a worldwide economic and societal collapse. There are no borders, no states, and no regulations, yet never has a more peaceful and prosperous place existed on earth.

But there is unrest in this apparent paradise. Mr. Drake's third generation security company has seen better days, and his arbiter friend Mr. Barry is under investigation by the publication Business Ethics Review for allegedly taking a bribe. Faced with the prospect of a crumbling business, and waning power, the two devise a plan to reform society to their liking. Mr. Drake and Mr. Barry intend to replace the anarchy of New England, with a corrupt government.

However, intrepid reporter Molly Metis, won't be intimidated by the pair. Despite attempts to stop her, she continues to dig deeper into recent events surrounding Drake and Barry. She is sure she can expose the dark plot, but will anybody care? And what will be the cost?
