The Minister of National Security of Argentina, Patricia Bullrich, announced a set of measures to curb roadblocks by protesters, authorizing the arrest of anyone promoting pickets that prevent the total or partial circulation of the population.

???? The new Argentine president, Javier Milei, during his campaign, reiterated the slogan "el que corta no cobra" ("whoever blocks, doesn't get paid"), already indicating that roadblocks would result in detention, including social benefits.

?? According to Bullrich, federal forces and the federal prison service will intervene in the face of roadblocks, according to current procedural codes. "If there is a crime in progress, they can intervene. The crimes will be investigated according to article 194 of the Penal Code, and federal forces may intervene in flagrante," explained the minister.

The protocol establishes specific guidelines for situations of roadblocks during protests:

1. Authorities will act until all blocked streets and bridges are cleared, using the minimum force necessary.

2. Those responsible for the blockades, as well as accomplices and instigators, will be identified, and their information will be forwarded to the competent authorities. Vehicles used in the pickets will also be registered.

3. Social organizations responsible for the protests will bear the costs of security operations.

4. A competent judge will be notified if the actions result in environmental damage.

5. The participation of children and adolescents will result in notifying the authorities, and sanctions will be imposed on the guardians of minors.

6. Foreign protesters with temporary residence will be identified, and their information will be sent to the National Directorate of Immigration of Argentina.

7. Organizations that frequently participate in creating pickets will be placed on a government list.
