A Mensch v. a Menace

by Stephen Lendman

On the cusp of a new year, hope springs eternal — at times perhaps justified, clearly not at the most perilous time in world history.

Russia is blessed with a mensch in charge of running things, along with a stellar supportive team.

Hegemon USA installed an unelected, illegitimate imposter in the White House, a mumbling bumbling, out-of-touch-with reality know-nothing, a figurehead controlled by dominant regime hardliners at war on humanity at home and worldwide.

The same reality applies to Nazi-infested Ukraine, a US-installed puppet in charge, a no longer funny comedian, a buffoon controlled by his hegemonic master.

In his holiday season greetings to foreign leaders, none from the decadent, depraved West were included — allies alone, no enemies, none threatening peace and humanity's survival.

Leaders he extended outreach to included China's Xi Jinping, Belarus' Alexander Lukashenko, leaders of other Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), India's Narendra Modi, Turkey's Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Syria's Bashar al-Assad, Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro, Cuba's Miguel Diaz-Canel and Raul Castro, Nicaragua's Daniel Ortega and Serbia's Aleksandar Vucic, among others.

Hungary's Viktor Orban, along with former European leaders Silvio Berlusconi and Gerhard Schroder received yearend greetings from Putin.

Other Western counterparts were excluded from Putin's yearend outreach because they're mortal enemies of peace and the rule of law.

So were international organizations, leading sports federations, Angela Merkel, as well as kill shot/Nazi-infested Ukraine-supporting Pope Francis.

Last summer, the Holy Sea falsely accused Russia of aggression instead of denouncing the scourge of the made-in-the-USA Ukraine monster.

Last September, Francis expressed support for providing Ukrainian Nazis with weapons — in defiance of reality, saying:

Arming them is "not only lawful (sic), but also an expression of love of country (sic)."

Earlier as archbishop of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Francis supported the ruling regime's military dictatorship, including its brutal dirty war against independent journalists, human rights supporters, trade unionists, priests endorsing social justice, and likeminded students.

As pontiff, he and his predecessors exercised dictatorial powers, their decrees the final say on issues across the board.

Russia's Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, delivered his own yearend outreach to the nation's military personnel, saying the following:

"The outgoing year will forever go down in the military chronicles of the Fatherland, filled with your immortal deeds, selfless courage and heroism in the fight against neo-Nazism and terrorism."

"I thank you all for your service and loyalty to the oath (for) "heroically fulfilling combat missions to protect national interests and security, (including) the most difficult tasks in the course of the special military operation."

"In the coming year, I want to wish everyone good health, fortitude, reliable and devoted comrades and, of course, clear skies!"

"Our victory, like the new year, is inevitable!"

Separately on New Year's eve, Russia's upper house Federation Council Deputy Speaker, Konstantin Kosachev, denounced earlier head-fake support for Minsk I and II conflict resolution agreements by Germany's Merkel and France's Hollande, calling their deception "documental betrayal," adding:

"The southeast of then Ukraine was betrayed by the West from the start despite the verbal fluff around it."

"The cost of this betrayal was thousands of human lives (lost) over the past (nine) years" since early 2014.

Hollande and Merkel virtually admitted that agreement to conflict resolution principles was to buy time for US/Western-supported Ukrainian Nazis to rearm for planned cross-border aggression.

They agreed to set central Europe ablaze in pursuit of their anti-Russia aims.

Their duplicity is further proof positive that US-dominated Western regimes can never be trusted.

Looking ahead, Russia's only option is unconditional surrender by the made-in-the-USA Ukraine monster.

Nothing less is acceptable.

It's the only way to restore peace and stability in Europe's heartland.
