War-Mongering Extremist John Bolton for President?

by Stephen Lendman

The possibility should terrify everyone.

Raging hawk, former Trump regime national security advisor, John Bolton, tweeted the following:

"If current GOP presidential candidates don't repudiate (his former boss, he's) prepared to get in the (2024) race" for the White House.

"Donald Trump's assertion that his claims of electoral fraud in 2020 justify 'terminating' relevant constitutional provisions demonstrates that he rejects this fundamental element of the Presidential oath of office (sic)."

"Trump cannot be trusted to adhere to the oath — or any other commitment — if, God forbid, he were to win election in 2024."

Interviewed on Meet the Press Now, Bolton said the following:

"I'd like to see Shermanesque statements from all potential candidates."

"If I don't see that, I'm going to seriously consider getting in."

Trump chose Bolton as national security advisor in April 2018 — then sacked him in September 2019 for "disagree(ing) strongly" on various geopolitical issues.

They're both worlds apart on DJT's legitimate grand theft election 2020 claim.

Bolton knows but won't admit what's indisputable.

He and other RINO Republicans shamed themselves by failing to condemn what happened.

Time and again, Trump is wrong on various domestic and geopolitical issues.

He's right about stolen election 2020.

According to the Washington Examiner, other GOP 2024 presidential aspirants at this time include Mike Pence, Nikki Haley, Mike Pompeo and Ron DeSantis.

Last month, Trump announced his candidacy for reelection.

Neither wing of the US war party warrants public support.

Yet compared to the fake Biden or another undemocratic Dem, Trump would clearly be preferable.

Bolton's agenda should terrify everyone.

Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation director, Alexandra Bell, earlier said the following:

"Between Pompeo and Bolton, you're looking at a neocon foreign policy jacked up on steroids."

The same reality applies to right-wing extremist Haley.

All of the above rogues are militantly hostile toward Russia, China, Iran and other nations unwilling to subordinate their rights to a higher power in Washington.

In a 2015 NYT op-ed, Bolton called for "bomb(ing) Iran" to prevent its development of nukes its ruling authorities don't seek.

Saying "Iran's steady progress toward nuclear weapons has long been evident" was and remains a bald-faced Big Lie.

In April 2017, Bolton called for preemptive war on nonbelligerent, nonthreatening North Korea.

Saying negotiations are "a waste of time," he added:

"The way to end the North's nuclear program is to end the North."

Last March, he called Trump a Putin-loving "village idiot."

He falsely accused Russia of US election interference — a longstanding hegemon USA policy against scores of nations throughout the post-WW II period and earlier.

He supports greater NATO enlargement than already to surround Russia, China, Iran and other nations with US military bases for perpetual war-making.

He called for "put(ing) more American and other NATO forces into Ukraine."

As president, he'd send the US war secretary to arrange "greater cooperation" with the scourge of the Nazi-infested regime.

He'd "airlift more weapons" to regime troops and would challenge Russia more confrontationally than already.

He called for "regime change" in Iran and North Korea by brute force and economic war on China.

He considers all sovereign independent states a threat to the US drive for unchallenged hegemony.

He never met a nonbelligerent, nonthreatening nation free from US control that he didn't want transformed to vassal state status by war-making.

He never met a time of peace and stability he didn't want shifted to perpetual war.

Weeks before Russia launched its liberating SMO in self-defense, he lied claiming that Moscow "planted operatives in…Donbass (to) stage false flag operations as pretexts for Russian invasion (sic)."

He lied accusing Russia of "threatening to deploy troops to Venezuela and Cuba (sic)."

He lied saying that Moscow's aim is "annexing all of Ukraine (sic)."

Instead of opposing the scourge of Nazism infesting its territory, he supports it, including US proxy war on Russia by use of Ukrainian foot soldiers.

He lied claiming that if the Biden regime "fail(s)" Ukraine (sic), "Putin will have perfected a road map to further erode NATO's deterrence (sic)."

An earlier critic accused Bolton of believing that "foreign policy problem(s) (can best) be solved by bombing."

His rage for endless wars to advance US imperial interests defines the menace he represents.

A Final Comment

Repairing October 8 damage to the Crimean Bridge by Ukrainian Nazis was completed on Monday — except for some minor work to be finished this month.

According to Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Marat Khusnullin, on Monday, Vladimir Putin inspected the repaired bridge and personally drove across what was restored in a passenger vehicle.

Four sections of the bridge were damaged.

Khusnullin was in charge of overseeing its reconstruction — what was completed in less than two months by round-the-clock work with rotating shifts.

"We had metal present because large-scale construction (was ongoing) in the country" at the time, he explained, adding:

"So we relocated metal to production of bridge parts, assembled all 1,214 tons and brought them here."

Around 500 workers, 3 floating cranes, 4 barges, and 31 vehicles worked 24/7, completing reconstruction in 55 days.

Because 22 days were stormy, it was necessary to rely on unique technologies — what enabled work from the ground when too hazardous to work from water.

Divers were involved in dismantling of collapsed parts, making it possible to finish work sooner.

Work on completing minor damage to the bridge's northern span is expected to be completed before yearend.

Russia's technological expertise enabled the bridge's integrity to be restored much more quickly than would have been likely by US/Western regimes — ones prioritizing profits over the public interest.
