UN Subservience to Hegemon USA's Interests

by Stephen Lendman

Following WW II, the UN was established "to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to" countless millions of victims, along with other lofty aims.

Instead of fulfilling them, the UN secretary general and other key world body officials virtually support an endless reign of terror on humanity by US-dominated NATO regimes — in pursuit of their hegemonic aims.

The UN secretariat's failure to speak out against and denounce how the empire of lies and forever wars operates shows complicity with its crimes of war and against humanity.

Aggrieved millions have no advocate at world body headquarters or its satellite branches.

Hegemon USA and allied rogue states are free to bludgeon, exploit, and otherwise abuse them with impunity.

Supporting them by a regimen of silence, by supporting Western interests over peace, equity, justice and the rule of law, by blaming victims for crimes committed against them rendered the world body complicit with their war on humanity.

Dominated by the empire of lies and subservient vassals, the UN Human Rights Council (HRC) abandoned its legitimacy in favor vilifying their invented enemies by fake news and other perversions of reality.

Instead of setting the record straight about nations free from US control, about its wars by hot and/or other means against invented enemies, the HRC permits use of its platform by the empire of lies and complicit vassals in pursuit of their hegemonic aims.

It ignores crimes of war and against humanity by Ukrainian Nazis.

It supports Israeli apartheid by whitewashing its anti-Palestinian ruthlessness.

Along with most of his predecessors, UN secretary general Guterres is an unapologetic imperial tool — supporting what demands denunciation.

On November 24, the UN Human Rights Council's so-called "independent, international fact-finding mission to thoroughly and independently investigate alleged human rights violations in Iran related to the protests that began on 16 September 2022" ignored their made-in-the-USA origin.

Orchestrated and directed by Biden regime dark forces, jihadists and other extremists were imported for involvement in street violence.

What's been going on is all about another hegemon USA plot to transform Iran into vassal state status under puppet rule — to eliminate its sovereign independence, plunder its vast energy resources and exploit its people as serfs.

In response, the Islamic Republic has been exercising its UN Charter right of self-defense — the right of all nations under attack.

The HRC once again disgraced itself by falsely accusing Iran of human rights abuses — 25 regimes supporting the baseless charge, only 6 profiles of courage against it, another 16 nations abstaining.

Since mid-September, there's been nothing remotely "peaceful" about made-in-the-USA violence against Iran and its people.

Claims about hundreds of deaths ad thousands of arrests were blown way out of proportion to reality on the ground.

On Monday by phone with his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amirabdollahian, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Mekdad said the following:

The Syrian Arab Republic "affirms that such arbitrary, unacceptable decisions reflect a continuous method taken by Western (regimes) against independent countries in (pursuit of) their destructive agendas (against) developing" nations.

Adoption of their anti-Iran resolution followed heavy-handed Biden regime pressure, bullying, threats and bribes.

According to Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Nasser Kanaani, the Islamic Republic refused to cooperate with the US/Western-controlled HRC — with its politically-motivated resolution, saying the following:

The HRC's "hasty employment of human rights mechanisms and instrumental use of them against independent states are rejected and condemned and will not provide any help for the advancement of human rights."

"Therefore, the Islamic Republic of Iran is fulfilling its national responsibilities in this regard."

It "will not engage in any cooperation, whatsoever, with the" politically-motivated assault on its sovereign independence, calling the hostile resolution a "historic mistake."

Violence in Iran was planned long in advance by the empire of lies before initiating it in cahoots with its Western vassals.

The vast majority of Iranians oppose what's going on, turning out en masse in Tehran and elsewhere nationwide against it multiple times.

Last week, Press TV reported the following:

Iranians are fed up with made-in—the USA/West violence against the nation because it's free from imperial control.

"People say they will not tolerate harm to their country's national security."

"They called on rioters to (halt) continuation of unrest," saying it serve(s) the interests of Iran's enemies."

Like earlier foiled attempts by the empire of lies against the Islamic Republic's independence from imperial control, the latest one is also doomed to fail.
