China Committed to Prevent Taiwan Independence

by Stephen Lendman

At war on Russia by use of Ukrainian Nazis and conscript foot soldiers, does hegemon USA intend a second front against China, using its Taiwan breakaway province in similar fashion?

At China's 20th National Congress — what concluded on Saturday — the nation's ruling Communist Party (CPC) affirmed its intention to upgrade the People's Liberation Army (PLA) to world-class status, a statement saying:

The CPC stressed that "achieving the goals for the centenary of the People's Liberation Army in 2027 and more quickly elevating our people's armed forces to world-class standards are strategic tasks for building a modern socialist country in all respects," adding:

China "must apply (President) Xi Jinping's thinking on strengthening the military (to) implement military strategy for the new era, and maintain the Party's absolute leadership over the" PLA.

According to the resolution, China should "continue to enhance political loyalty in the military, (strengthening the PLA) through reform, science, technology, and personnel training, (along with) run(ning it) in accordance with the law."

Actions will be taken to enhance the PLA's "strategic capabilities to defend China's sovereignty, security, and development interests and see that the people's armed forces effectively fulfill their missions and tasks in the new era."

The ominous threat posed by hegemon USA-dominated NATO is what Beijing means by "the new era."

Last week, interventionist Blinken expressed the Biden regime's intention to supply Taiwan with more weapons and munitions than already in similar fashion to how it's been arming Ukrainian Nazis.

According to his deputy spokesman, Vedant Patel, last week:

The Biden regime "is looking at all options on the table to ensure the rapid transfer of defense capabilities to Taiwan as swiftly as possible."

Notably since the Obama/Biden regime's so-called 2013 Asia pivot — escalated by Trump and dominant hardliners surrounding the fake Biden — US policy toward China and other nations free from its control aims to marginalize, weaken, contain, and isolate them.

The harebrained agenda already failed, notably against China, Russia and Iran.

Most world community nations reject rampaging and exploitive actions by the empire of lies and forever wars against invented enemies.

At this time, Russia is methodically slaying the made-in-the-USA, Nazi-infested Ukraine monster.

China is taking "resolute steps to oppose Taiwan independence, promote reunification, maintain the initiative and the ability to steer in cross-Strait relations, and unswervingly advance the cause of national reunification."

According to the CPC's Deputy Publicity Director, Sun Yeli:

"We do not promise to renounce the use of force and reserve the possibility of taking all necessary measures against the interference of external forces and the extremely small number of pro-Taiwan independence separatist forces and their separatist activities."

On Friday, China's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Wang Wenbin, said the following on Taiwan:

Hegemon USA "needs to be fully aware of the extreme importance and highly sensitive nature of the Taiwan question, abide by the one-China principle and three China-US joint communiques, credibly act on its commitment of not supporting Taiwan independence, and refrain from sending any wrong signals to Taiwan independence separatist forces," adding:

"Let me stress that the Taiwan question is purely China's internal affair that brooks no interference from any external force."

"We firmly oppose US moves of manipulating Taiwan-related issues to stoke confrontation in the region."

In opening remarks at CPC's 20th National Congress last week, President Xi  stressed that in resolving the Taiwan question, China "will never promise to renounce the use of force, and we reserve the option of taking all measures necessary."

According to Taiwan expert, Tang Yonghong:

"(C)ollusion between (Taiwan's ruling separatist Democratic Progressive Party) and (both wings of) the US (war) is now more intense than at any time since China and the US established diplomatic relations" in 1979.

Beijing considers Taiwan a breakaway province to be reunited with the mainland.

In August, a white paper by Beijing authorities on the Taiwan question said the following:

Taiwan has been part of China for centuries.

UN (October 1971) General Assembly Resolution 2758 affirmed the one-China principle.

"We are one China, and Taiwan is part of China," said its white paper, adding:

"This is an indisputable fact supported by history and the law."

"Taiwan has never been a state."

"Its status as part of China is unalterable."

"It is the sacred right of every sovereign state to safeguard national unity and territorial integrity."

"It goes without saying that the Chinese government is entitled to take all measures necessary to settle the Taiwan question and achieve national reunification, free of external interference."

Professor Lin Tse-yuan stressed the following:

"Facing an unprecedentedly severe cross-Straits situation, the CPC convey(ed) its firm attitude toward (the unacceptability of) meddling by foreign forces in China's internal affairs."

On Saturday, China's Global Times reported the following:

"One country, two systems" is unalterable Beijing policy toward Taiwan.

Reunification with its Taiwan breakaway province "must…and…can without doubt be realized," quoting President Xi.

This objective is now included in the CPC's Constitution.

Dominant Biden regime hardliners are pushing things for confrontation with China.

Beijing's Defense Ministry earlier said the following:

The PLA "continues to train and prepare for war (to) resolutely defend (the nation's) sovereignty and territorial integrity, and will resolutely crush any form of 'Taiwan independence' separatism and foreign interference."

China's Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, stressed that legitimate countermeasures will be taken in response to provocative US actions.

At a time when US support for One China no longer exists, the risk of belligerent confrontation by the Biden regime on two fronts — against Russia and the PLA — is ominously high.
